About the client
Margin House is an independent publisher of art books and small editions. It gives emerging artists room to experiment with the relationship between images, words, and the physical page.
The challenge
The publisher needed a recognizable signature that would support many different artists without imposing one visual style on every book. The identity had to work at the scale of a spine, a colophon, and a book-fair stand.

Our Solution
We made the open margin itself the central idea: a bracket-like mark, a carefully spaced serif wordmark, and a disciplined but flexible grid. Rich red and warm paper tones create continuity while leaving each title’s artwork room to lead.

“The system gives our books a family resemblance without making them all look alike. It respects the artists’ work and gives us a strong signature in the small details.”
